GSP X Labrador rescue dog

Lockie

Meet Lockie! A four year old German Shorthaired Pointer cross Labrador.

Full of loyalty, LOVE, energy and LIFE, Lockie is the perfect companion! He is a smart boy, who is quick to learn/receptive to training due to being highly food orientated (LAB!)

At a young age Lockie was well socialised and has been taught basic commands (shake is a personal favourite). He is great around children, dogs, cats and most livestock (unsure about chickens). Lockie enjoys swimming, playing fetch, zoomies, paddle boarding, the beach, camping, daily walks, sunbaking, and being around his humans. Lockie is generally good at walking off lead until a kangaroo is sighted (he likes to chase).

During the day he will happily snooze in the sunshine until everyone is home from work. It would be beneficial for Lockie to have a friend to play with throughout the day whom matches his energy as he loves interaction. Lockie is well house trained and knows to do all business outside. He is guilty of sleeping inside, however will adjust to sleeping outside if necessary.

On a remote property when the family is home Lockie will be fine with low fencing. However if you live within an estate/busy neighbourhood high fences are a must as he has been known to escape when home alone. This guy has a lot of love to give, and will be sure to make you laugh.

Lockie will thrive in a loving family/working household who have other dogs and the time to exercise him daily.

Best outcomes: For the best possible outcome for each adoption we do prefer that you come to us and meet the dog or puppy in person.
Please note: Even though you may be first to apply, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a “first in, first served basis”. We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.

*The adoption fee includes microchipping on the NSW Companion Animal Register, desexing, C5 vaccination, intestinal worm and flea treatment. Council registration for rescue dogs in NSW is $27.50 and $23 for pensioners. (This is included in the adoption fee).
