In the late 1980s we were sitting around the heater in mid winter in Albury where we lived, when there was a scratch at the door. When we investigated there was a small young tabby cat there, we opened the door and he walked in, straight to the heater, placed himself there and proceeded to clean himself.
He may have been outside watching and listening to us for a while and had decided that we were the ones. He lived with us for the next 15 years regularly bringing us gifts stolen from the neighbours.
What I am saying is that cats prefer to choose their owners. And it’s no different now at AWAR where we have cats and kittens of all ages, sexes, temperaments and types. Sure you can have your preferences and want a black, tabby, male, female, kitten, mature etc, but when it comes to the crunch and you sit down in our “cat room” and that sweet boy jumps onto your lap and smooches up to you when all the other cats are ignoring you, your heart will melt; he’s the one.
So if you are looking to add a feline member to your family give Rae a call on 0411 668 614 to make a time to visit the cat room and get chosen!
Please contact Rae Smith 0411 668 614 to organise a meeting.
Below are just four of our beautiful cats waiting to choose you 😎
|Indoor / outdoor||Indoors only|
*Plus council registration if adopted in NSW
See notes below
|Microchip number:||Check individual cat|
*The adoption fee includes microchipping on the NSW Companion Animal Register, desexing, F4 vaccination, intestinal worm and flea treatment. Council registration for rescue cats in NSW is $27.50 and $23 for pensioners.
This fee applies from 18/7/2016
For the best possible outcome for each adoption we do prefer that you come to us and meet the cat or kitten in person.
Please note: Even though you may be first to call, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a “first in, first served basis”. We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.
For the safety of your cat, the protection of our wildlife and respect for your neighbours, we ask that our cats are indoor 24/7.
